The Wicker Pedestal & Urn. As with every Mainly Baskets Home wicker and rattan piece, the Pedestal and Urn design was inspired by ancient times. The column pedestal was dreamt up by the ancient Greeks and later widely adopted by the Romans in 2 AD, and the urn shapes that we reference date back to as early as 7000 BC. They debuted their first wicker urn in the 1980s and have reissued it every few years as trends come back around. Each piece is a statement on its own or can be coupled with other Mainly Baskets Home styles to further elevate a space. This braided urn can be used on its own or propped upon its beautiful mate, the Braided Square Pedestal. Fill it with a fern or your favorite arrangement to fit your mood.
